About The Author

Kymberlyn Lacy is an award-winning interior designer, licensed general contractor , and creative visionary who believes that interior design is more than what we see-it's how we feel, grow, and connect.

With a background rooted in architecture, historic preservation, fine art, and a deep reverence for storytelling, Kymberlyn has dedicated her career to creating spaces that reflect beauty, purpose, and legacy. Her work has been featured in national publications such as Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, HGTV, Essence Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Herald, and Forbes, to only name a few.

But her proudest titles? Mother, mentor, and now- author.

Kymberlyn's debut children book, A Designer Like Me, was born from her desire to inspire young readers-especially children of color, to see themselves in creative industries where representation is often lacking. Through bold, vibrant storytelling and personal legacy, she encourages children to dream boldly, design freely, and honor where they come from.

The name Fahn /fa:n/ the main character featured in the book. is pronounced just like "fawn" a baby deer. More than just a character, Fahn pays homage to her mother's maiden name. The name Fahn means "one who carries the light forward". A reminder to continue carrying her family legacy forward.

When she 's not designing luxury commercial and residential spaces, general contracting projects, or speaking publicly. Kymberlyn can be found sketching by the sunset, enjoying a new life daring adventure, or pouring into her four children, the muses behind every chapter of her life.
